Questions at the margin
Margin notes survive when the main text is trimmed — these answers stay in the DOM without JavaScript.
What do clients ask before booking the bench? Eleven sidenotes below — accordion panels using details and summary, display type for questions, plain answers beneath. Every answer remains visible in the page source when JavaScript is disabled, as required for accessibility and honest FAQ design on a professional services site. How is a positioning engagement structured?
We begin with a bench read — your existing materials annotated without premature rewriting. Week two is a fold session creasing research toward candidate lines. Week three marbles names or voices against real sentences. Week four locks decisions in a handover document. Scope is agreed in writing before day one.
What does a naming study look like from the inside?
Naming follows a signed positioning line. We run structured workshops, generate variants tied to criteria, stress-test them aloud and in context, log rejections with reasons, and deliver a shortlist with semantic notes — not a hundred-name spreadsheet. Legal review coordination can be included when arranged early.
Do you work with teams outside Singapore?
Yes. APAC headquarters and regional marketing teams are common clients. Sessions happen on video; the written record is identical. We harmonise English copy with Singapore as the spine and notes for markets needing different examples.
What should we prepare before the first session?
Send existing copy — site, decks, sales notes, support macros if voice work is likely. Identify who signs positioning decisions. Gather competitor homepages your team respects. No special template required; plain documents are fine.
How long does a voice guide take?
Typically four weeks once a positioning line is signed. We draft rules, test them against your real sentences, revise with your editors, and deliver a bound reference with before-and-after examples. Rush requests without positioning work are declined.
Can we hire you for a single workshop?
We offer fold sessions as part of scoped engagements, not as isolated theatre. Workshops without follow-through produce sheets that never get sewn. If you need a one-day diagnostic, ask — we may recommend a brand audit shape instead.
What is not included in your work?
Media buying, performance reporting, SEO rank promises, software subscriptions, photography production, print binding as a commercial service, and influencer marketplaces. The bindery is metaphor. Deliverables are strategic and editorial documents.
How do we start?
Write to [email protected] with a short description of your situation, who decides, and your rough timeline. We reply during Mon–Fri 09:30–18:30 SGT with whether the brief fits our bench and what shape we would recommend.
Where are you located?
Reach Nest Forge Pte. Ltd., 63 Spottiswoode Park Road, #02-01, Singapore 088652. Visits by appointment. The map on this site and on Shopcounter shows the neighbourhood.
How do you handle confidentiality?
Materials stay on encrypted storage during engagements. NDAs are standard for naming work. Casebound sketches on this site are anonymised by policy — no client names, no logos, no numeric outcomes.
How long does a positioning study usually run?
Most studies run six to ten weeks depending on stakeholder availability and how much existing material we inherit. Week one is bench read only; folds and marbling rounds follow once research is spread and sorted on the board.
What should we send in a first email?
Send who approves positioning decisions, your rough timeline, links to current public copy, and any internal decks you can share under confidentiality. We reply with whether the brief fits our bench and which endpaper shape from our Endpapers page might suit your rhythm.
How are workshops structured?
Workshops are working sessions with paper on the bench — not theatre with sticky notes on glass. We leave with sentences to test aloud, not slogans to applaud. Breaks are scheduled so approvers can think before the next fold. Remote participants receive the same written summary as people in the room.
